RESPONSIBILITIES: |
The America I Am Exhibit Supervisor is responsible for supervising the exhibit supervisory staff, interpretive staff, and volunteers for America I Am: The African-American Imprint. The supervisor will be responsible for the daily operations of the exhibit, and assist with exhibit staff training.
The supervisor will also be expected to maintain a positive work environment, as well as the safety and security of our visitors and artifacts.

QUALIFICATIONS: |
Minimum High School graduate, some college preferred. Must be able to coordinate activities of several people and be self-motivated. Previous museum or non-traditional education experience required. Individual must be able to work a set Monday – Friday schedule including holidays, and some evenings.
.Good customer service and verbal skills required..Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Familiarity with Word and Excel software strongly preferred. Must be able to coordinate the activities of several people and be self motivated.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: |
Exhibit will be open to the public Monday through Sunday. Shift days and times vary, numbers of hours worked per week may vary. May have extended hours during peak times or around special events and programming. Exhibit shifts run May 17, 2010 through January 3, 2011.Full time and part time positions may be available. Part time positions are less than 32 hours per week.
