POSITION:

MANAGER OF CORPORATE RELATIONS (FT)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

MANAGER OF CORPORATE RELATIONS reports to the Director of Major Giving and has principal responsibility for building mutually beneficial relationships with the Museum’s corporate constituents in order to raise and sustain annual corporate gifts of $10,000 and below. The Manager assists the Director of Major giving (and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement) in identifying and developing solicitation strategies for sponsorship opportunities greater than $10,000. Specifically, this position is responsible for the following: (An asterisk indicates that this is an essential function of the job as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act)

Initiates, coordinates and facilitates the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of cash and in-kind corporate, support for Cincinnati Museum Center.*

 Plans and implements the annual Business Partner campaign, identifying and researching new prospects, cultivating prospective and current donors, and soliciting corporate gifts of $10,000 and less.*

 Designs, implements, and monitors cultivation and solicitation strategies for all assigned prospects. Assists Director of Major Giving and Vice-President of Institutional Advancement in identifying prospects and developing strategies for corporate sponsorships over $10,000.*

 In consultation with the Director of Major Giving and other colleagues in IA and Marketing as appropriate, designs and implements a program of corporate benefits, sponsorship opportunities, and recognition programs, ensuring that all benefits are delivered as agreed.*

Researches, solicits, cultivates, and stewards a portfolio of 150-200 corporate prospects. Maintains accountability for fundraising progress with the Director of Major Giving, using the required database and reporting tools.*

 Conducts a minimum of 15 in-person meetings per month with current and prospective donors.*

 Reaches and exceeds annual revenue goals assigned by the Vice-President of Institutional Advancement.*

 Works with Manager of Advancement Services to ensure timely acknowledgment of support and accurate gift processing.

 Manages the prospect database for all assigned prospects. Ensures timely entry and revision of proposal information, planned and completed telephone calls, meetings, proposals, detailed call reports, and related data into the Raiser’s Edge database.

 Conducts research for all assigned prospects in order to update and increase the size of the prospect base.

 Works cooperatively with Manager of Annual Giving to create, plan and implement small donor cultivation events for corporate and individual major donors.

 Coordinates production of materials needed for corporate contribution solicitation and cultivation including brochures, advertisements, letters, invitations and donor lists. This includes soliciting artwork or logos needed for recognition.

 Maintains accurate, up-to-date records and files for all assigned contributors and prospects.

 Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or closely related field required with at least two years’ experience in fundraising, with emphasis on corporate and foundation and/or major gifts; corporate outreach; business development; or similar area.

Ability to take initiative, work both independently and collaboratively and think creatively to problem-solve.

 Strong organizational and project management skills required.

 Experience meeting with individuals one-on-one, as well as with corporate and foundation leadership.

 Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment while using sound judgment in decision-making and in accomplishing tasks that are urgent or of a sensitive nature, all while meeting competing deadlines.

 Ability to understand and communicate technical, scientific, and educational activities as well as to develop good working relations with peers, volunteers and donors.

 Proven effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conceive, develop, and write compelling proposals that result in action.

 Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office suite for email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation functions. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including ability to use arithmetic formulas, sorting functions, and formatting functions effectively.

Ability to institute change and build a program.

Must be team-oriented, self-directed, and able to effectively manage priorities and projects.

Possess a high level of motivation and integrity.

 Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other prospect management experience required.
