Ongoing Learning Opportunities

Cincinnati Museum Center offers many opportunities for educators to build their own knowledge and stay on top in their profession. You can attend workshops and seminars that demonstrate how to use Cincinnati Museum Center as a resource for classroom work and for personal enjoyment.You can also earn Continuing Education Units by attending certain lectures and workshops.

NEW Insights Lecture Series

Cincinnati Museum Center is changing the way it approaches lectures. Rather than presenting multiple lecture series for science and history, we will now present one, Insights Lecture Series that will feature topics from many disciplines.

Join us in Reakirt Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, September through May (excluding December) for a free public lecture featuring local and national experts speaking on a variety of subjects chosen for their relevance and their ability to spark insight and dialogue.

Brown Bag Lectures

All lectures are at noon on the third Monday of each month, September through June, except for January and February when they are on the fourth Monday. Lectures take place in the Reakirt Auditorium, are free and do not require reservations.        

Music in the Museum Concert Series

Cincinnati Museum Center presents the seventh season of Music in the Museum concerts. These concerts feature the outstanding 1929 E.M. Skinner Symphonic Concert Organ in the lush, reverberant acoustics of Cincinnati Museum Center's Rotunda. All concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. Parking is free.

Heritage Programs Tours

Cincinnati Museum Center Heritage Programs has been presenting historical, cultural and architectural tours for over 20 years. As an outreach association of the Cincinnati Historical Society, the docents of the all-volunteer Cincinnati Heritage Programs has unlocked doors to privately owned places generally not open to the public. All topics are thoroughly researched for accuracy.

Dinosaur Field School

If you’re interested in dinosaurs and want to participate in a real dig, this is the trip for you! This weeklong session will give you a wide range of experience in the basic principles and techniques of geology and paleontology. Training and collecting supplies will be provided by Cincinnati Museum Center staff under the direction of Dr. Glenn Storrs, Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology.

Hahn Site Field School

Have you always wanted to participate in a real archaeology excavation? If so, you are in luck. Cincinnati Museum Center presents our 4th annual archaeology field school, a series of four weeklong field school sessions at the Hahn Site in Anderson Township, Hamilton County, Ohio. Join us for a week or longer and experience the thrill of uncovering artifacts and features from this Late Prehistoric village site along the Little Miami River.
